We’re Saving the World: A fifth grade class in Southern Oregon decides to send copies of a book to all the governors in the USA. Why? Because one day Sharon Mehdi sat down and wrote an inspirational story for her granddaughter, a fable about women standing silently for peace. It was a children’s story for adults that showed how each person can make a difference. And that’s just what happened. Encouraged by others to self-publish “The Great Silent Grandmother Gathering”, the little pamphlet soon took on a life of its own and was purchased by a major publisher. “We’re Saving the World” will uplift your spirits as it shows how generations can come together. Here’s a story that will leave you believing that there is still hope for the future.

It is a chronicle of the journey of an insignificant settlement to the coveted stature of a metropolis. The narrative is structured around imaginary debates between Ismat Chugtai and Sadat Hasan Manto, the two legendary writers who lived in this metropolis, over the art of chronicling these multi-layered overlapping cities. Good Deal, Bad Deal

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Hello Everyone,2766554128_bc9c5939a5

This is a blurb from Zeke Zelker’s blog regarding Cinetic Media and the deal that they have put forth to filmmakers.  Click the link below to read the entire post.

December 6, 2008 · 2 Comments

As I review the past year and plan for the years to come, I keep shaking my head over a deal that was offered to us for In SearchOf by Cinetic Media. I wanted to get the word out. FILMMAKERS BEWARE! For those who do not know who Cinetic are, they’re the bull in the China shop in the indie film world. They’re big guys, the ones who made the careers of Kevin Smith, Edward Burns and the like. They do a good job representing filmmakers at places like Sundance but this is why I am dismayed of what they are currently offering filmmakers who pour years of hard work, talent, and copious amounts of money into their vision.

Out of the blue Cinetic called me and stated that they wanted

Zak Forsman – “I Fucking Hate You”

Zak Forsman

Get “I Fucking Hate You” HERE at IndieFlix.com

1.    What is your current state of mind?  I’m working on a new film, ELOQUENT GRAFFITI, and feedback to what we’ve shot so far has been stellar. And because my state of mind lives and dies based on what other people think of me, I’d say it’s pretty good right now. Haha!

2.    What is your greatest fear? Having my life cut short.

3.    What is your greatest extravagance? Where most people would have a television in their living room, I have an HD projector and a 9ft. screen.

4.    What is the trait you most deplore in yourself? I don’t work hard enough. I wouldn’t go so far as to call myself lazy… I’m more of a “convenience enthusiast”! :)

5.    What is the trait you most deplore in others? Presumptuousness. Did I spell that right? I wouldn’t want to… you know…

6.    What do you most value in your friends?  The laughs and smiles.

7.    Which living person do you most admire?  My girlfriend Jamie is the sort of person who can befriend anyone, anywhere. I don’t have that. She is a genuinely good person. She is also the best feature film editor I’ve met, willing to explore all options in an effort to rediscover the film within the material we shot.

8.    What do you consider the most overrated virtue? Professionalism, when it’s used as an excuse to do something the way it’s “supposed” to be done.

9.    What is your motto? Keep it moving, Push it forward.

10.    Rate your movie 1-10. I give it a 6. I can (and have) done better.

Chris Valenti – “Sensitive Johnson”

untitled4

Get “Sensitive Johnson” HERE at IndieFlix.com

What is your current state of mind?
I’m creating.  That’s when I’m happiest.  I feel I’m productive and contributing.  Right now I’m writing and practicing an hour  long stand up comedy set that I will perform and film on Nov 29th.  That is also the day before my birthday, so I decided to throw a surprise party for myself the same night.  I never seem to have a long-term girlfriend whenever my birthday rolls around, so if I ever want to have a surprise party, I’m going to have to do it myself.  Having it right before my show is brilliant, if I do say so…  I’ll be so wrapped up in preparing for the performance, I’ll never suspect the surprise.  Kind of genius, I know.

What is your greatest fear?
Dying.     On stage.   Dying at the end of your life is probably tolerable.  Dying on stage is terrible, because you might run into these people on the way to your car.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Probably the MacBookPro on my lap right now.  Or the PD150 I shoot my films with.   Definitely not clothes or dates.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
I…………….                    procrastinate.

What is the trait you most deplore in others?
A mean spirit.

What do you most value in your friends?
The ability to make me happier.

Which living person do you most admire?
Steve Martin

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Talent.

What is your motto?
You never know unless you try.

Rate your movie 1-10
I love it.  I’d call it a 9.8.

Sean McKnight – “Disturbing Images”

Get “Disturbing Images” HERE at IndieFlix.com

1.    What is your current state of mind?
Busy! I’m in pre-production on a documentary and a feature, I’m putting the finishing touches on a short film and my day job is having me do some travel on top of it, so it’s a little hectic at the moment!

2.    What is your greatest fear?
Being stuck in my day job.

3.    What is your greatest extravagance?
Nothing right now, I’m on a very limited budget!

4.    What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
I rush to get things finished sometimes, I want to slow down and take my time more.

5.    What is the trait you most deplore in others?
When people don’t listen to each other.

6.    What do you most value in your friends?
Their love and support during tough times.

7.    Which living person do you most admire?
At the moment the person at the top of the list is Barack Obama. I’ve come to admire him quite a bit as I followed the presidential race.

8.    What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Independence (which is great, but you’re so much stronger as part of a team)

9.    What is your motto?
Keep moving forward (I got that from Meet The Robinsons)

10.    Rate your movie 1-10
10 of course!

Matt Wilkins – “Buffalo Bill’s Defunct”

1.    What is your current state of mind? Happy to be editing second feature.

2.    What is your greatest fear? Death.

4.    What is the trait you most deplore in yourself? Arrogance.

5.    What is the trait you most deplore in others? Insecurity.

6.    What do you most value in your friends? That they show up.

7.    Which living person do you most admire? Eliza Fox.

8.    What do you consider the most overrated virtue? Rationality.

9.    What is your motto? “Energy is eternal delight.”  –William Blake
